Abstract
This collection consists of the records of the Miniature
Book Society, 1983-2011. The collection includes business files, traveling exhibition papers, correspondence, meeting minutes,
souvenirs, manuscripts, catalogs, and audiovisual materials.

Historical Note
The Miniature Book Society was founded and chartered in 1983 in the state of Ohio and
incorporated in the state of Delaware in July 1989.
Arrangement
Arranged chronologically by year, following the General papers. Within each year the
files are arranged alphabetically. Conclave keepsakes are filed separate
boxes. Additions are arranged into 8 subseries: Business Files, Conclaves, Exhibitions, Catalogs, Publications, Dawson Papers,
Ephemera, and Audiovisual. Each subseries is arranged chronologically by year, with the exception of Publications, which
is arranged alphabetically by title.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of the records of the Miniature Book Society. The collection
includes business files, traveling exhibition papers, and correspondence.
This collection is organized by year. Business files include minutes of board
meetings and membership meetings; financial reports; committee reports; by-laws and
by-law changes; publicity and newsletter guidelines; and publicity. Competition and
traveling exhibition papers include entry forms; news releases and publicity;
catalog of entries in book competition; and locations of traveling exhibition.
Conclave materials include programs; lists of registrants; publicity; maps; and
planning notes. Correspondence is mostly among board members, but also contains
letters from entrants in the book competition and institutions interested in the
traveling exhibition.
Additions consist of more business files, including many financial documents. Conclaves include board meeting minutes, various
advertisements, correspondence, and souvenirs. Exhibitions are largely traveling exhibition correspondence, publicity, and
planning. Catalogs include both facsimiles and physical copies of exhibition catalogs. Publications consist of correspondence,
financial documentation, manuscripts, and audiovisual materials pertaining to titles published by the Miniature Book Society.
The Dawson Papers are specific to Glen and Mary Helen Dawson, active members of the Miniature Book Society, and include Conclave
related papers arranged by year. Ephemera include bags, folders, pencils, pins, souvenirs etc. collected at Conclaves. Audiovisual
consists of photographs taken at Conclaves and CD-ROMs of catalog layouts and meeting minutes.
Correspondents include: Glen and Mary Helen Dawson, Joan Knoertzer, Twyla Muller Racz, and Mark Palkovic.
