image number: | P0020027 |
description: | Phi Delta Theta house (former Axtell House, and eventually the Speech and Hearing Clinic) is at upper right (this image shows the north side of the house). This home was located on Jordan Avenue about 100 yards south of the southwest corner of Jordan Avenue and Tenth Street. There is an article on page 2 of the June 27, 1958 edition of The Indiana Daily Student regarding renovation of the house for the IU Speech and Hearing Clinic. The article seems to indicate that the renovation was completed sometime that year? For a detail of just the Phi Delta Theta house see image P0112713. The J.W.G. Johnson home is at lower left. Apparently the mules in the image belonged to a Sam Wallingford who later drove them to Huntsville, Alabama. |
