The student population at I.U. more than doubled after the end of World War II. An October 14, 1946 Associate Press caption pasted to back of one print of this image reads, in full: "VETS SLEEP IN TRUSTEES ROOM: Indiana University's Board of Trustee's room, heretofore reserved for meetings of the governing board and council of deans, is now a dormitory for student war veterans.
