Abstract
Anna Borovkoff was a Resident Lecturer in Russian for the Indiana University Department of Slavic Languages and Literature from 1960-1974. The collection consists of Borovkoff’s teaching manuals for the Russian language.

Biographical Note

Anna Borovkoff was born December 22, 1904 in Melitopol, Russia. She attended the Law School at Rostov University in Russia from 1923-1926 and the Teacher’s University in Moscow from 1938-1941. Borovkoff came to IU in 1960 for graduate study in the Dept. of Slavic Languages and Literatures and remained with the department until 1974 as a Resident Lecturer in Russian Languages. Courses taught by Borovkoff included various levels of Russian as well as courses in the Russian Language Institute. Borovkoff retired in 1974 and passed away in April of 1986.

Collection is organized into one series: Teaching manuals.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists solely of teaching manuals used by Borovkoff for the Intensive Russian course and for a Language Study Tour. The manuals contain a significant amount of Borovkoff’s marginal notes. Arranged alphabetically, many of the manuals are not complete and contain only a small selection of lessons.

Materials in this collection were originally part of the accession that formed C376, IU Department of Slavic Languages and Literature.
