Arrangement

Collection is organized into three series: Reports and reviews, Complaint files, and Subject files.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of three record series: Reports and Reviews, Subject Files, and Complaint Files created or collected by the Indiana University Office of Affirmative Action from 1972-1995. The Reports and Reviews series is further organized into five subseries: Action Plans, Annual Reports, Online Reviews of Graduate Admissions, Compliance Program Reports, and Workforce Reports.

All of the files in the Reports and Reviews series are arranged chronologically. The onsite reviews of graduate programs were all completed in 1979, and are listed by school. The workforce reports are divided into lists by department, name, position or title, and location. The complaint files are arranged alphabetically by name, and the subject files, the smallest series, are arranged alphabetically by folder title.

Several files in the collection are restricted because they contain confidential data about individual faculty or staff. Restricted records include one file from the compliance program reports series, and all files in the onsite review of graduate admissions and complaints series. Researchers who wish to use these files should consult the university archivist to determine if some records in the files might be available.
