Arrangement

Collection is organized into two series: Biographical and Artwork.

Scope and Content Note

This small collection is organized into two series. The first series, Biographical, includes two scrapbooks. The first scrapbook contains postcards depicting places in the U.S., with several examples of IU Bloomington campus scenes. The second covers Dolores’ time in Japan as a Civil Services employee between 1947-1948. Documenting her time overseas, Dolores filled this scrapbook with postcards, photographs, maps, brochures, and even a drawing of herself done by a young Japanese student. The series also includes change of address cards with the Alumni Association as well as a 1946 map of Tokyo.

The second series, Artwork, includes 12 ceramics pieces and a painted decorative wooden plate done by Whitney. Most of the ceramics feature an animal, including eagles, a horse, and a cat, and have either her signature or initials on the piece, usually the back or bottom.
