Founded by Jill Schoolman, Archipelago Books is a not-for-profit press devoted to
publishing excellent translations of classic and contemporary world literature. In
its first five years, Archipelago published over forty-five books in nearly twenty
languages.
The collection is organized into the following series: I. Correspondence; II.

The Archipelago Books mss., 1981-2010, consists of the papers of the firm, including
correspondence with authors, translators and advertisers; typescripts and
