Abstract
Consists of records of the Pennsylvania
Militia, primarily during the War of 1812.

Scope and Content Note
The collection includes the correspondence, spanning the years 1814 to 1821, of Isaac
Morrell, the Major General in 1815 and recorder of the County of Philadelphia in
1819-1821. The 1815 letters concern the payment of troops, while those between 1819
and 1821 refer to commissions to be recorded. The collection also includes estimates
of pay, subsistence, forage, and clothing of regiments of militia, light infantry,
and volunteers attached to the 2nd and 3rd brigades of Pennsylvania militia from
September 1814 to January 1815 and payrolls of companies in the 1st regiment, 1st
brigade, 2nd division, the 2nd regiment, and the 32nd regiment of Pennsylvania
militia, September - December 1814.
