Abstract
The Lyons, J. mss., 1992–1993, consist of letters to Jennifer Lyons, manager of The Jennifer Lyons Literary Agency in New York, from Swiss author Jürg Laederach.

Biographical Note

Jennifer Lyons was previously a senior agent for seventeen years with the Joan Daves Agency. She represents numerous award–winning authors and premier European publishers and teaches the business of writing at Sarah Lawrence College. Jürg Laederach (b. 1945 in Basel, Switzerland) has published over twenty works of literature in German, including a volume in collaboration with William Gass. Laederach received the Austrian State Prize for European Literature in 1997 and the Italo Svevo Award in 2005.

Scope and Content Note

The four letters from Jürg Laederach to Jennifer Lyons all deal with both personal and literary matters. The single–page letters were written in English and sent from Basel, Switzerland. An inventory follows this description.
