Biographical Note

Elizabeth Nelson Wing has an MFA in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University, and a B.A. with Honors from Bryn Mawr College. She has translated contemporary novels, poetry and non–fiction from the French by such authors as Edouard Glissant, Paule Constant, Assia Djebar, Lucie Aubrac, Didier Eribon, Hélène Cixous, Denis Hollier and Georges Dumézil. She has received numerous fellowships and awards, including translation grants from the International Center for Writing and Translation at the University of California, Irvine; the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, Paris.

The collection contains primarily drafts of Elizabeth Nelson Wing's translations, as well as occasional correspondence, publicity items, and other materials.
