Abstract
Consists of contemporary copies and
duplicates of orders and letters to the commanders-in-chief at the Cape of Good
Hope, Rear Admiral Robert Stopford (1768-1847) and Rear Admiral Charles Tyler
(1760-1835).

Scope and Content Note
Consists of contemporary copies and duplicates of orders and letters to the
commanders-in-chief at the Cape of Good Hope, Rear Admiral Robert Stopford
(1768-1847) and Rear Admiral Charles Tyler (1760-1835). Most of the documents were
signed by Sir John Barrow (1764-1848), secretary of the admiralty. Included are
twenty-nine printed documents signed and eight printed documents unsigned.
